Anybody going to give this a try? How to Break Down the Barrier Between Your Android and Computervia lifehacker.com
For my Android friends... There are some great apps in this article. Evernote is by far the most universally useful app I've used on any platform. I need to give AndroidScreencast a try. Have always wanted to be able to grab screenshots from the phone, and for some reason, that functionality isn't baked in. Always on the lookout for easier ways to sync iTunes with my EVO. This one looks promising. Flock + Foxmarks
Flock has always been a browser that I've really, really wanted to use, but didn't because I couldn't sync my bookmarks between profiles and
computers. I've been using Foxmarks with Firefox for quite
awhile now, and it works perfectly. All my bookmarks, on every computer
I use, on each Firefox profile (one for home and one for work.)
Recently, they updated the Foxmarks plug-in to include Safari, and
started changing the name to Xmarks. So now, bookmarks on Safari and Firefox on each of my computers stay in sync.
I hadn't used Flock in awhile, but I fired it up today just because I
missed it. As usual, I surfed over to Foxmarks to see if they supported
Flock yet. And they do!
So, now the bookmarks on Firefox, Safari, and Flock are all in sync--on every computer I use. Nirvana.
If you don't know what Flock is, check it out. It's basically Firefox
on Social Media Steroids. Drag and drop photos, write blog posts,
upload photos, etc... All in the browser.
Talk about a happy Friday.

Google Sync and the iPhone
Let me start by saying that I hate to plug in my phone in order to sync calendars, contacts, etc. When I had my Blackberry, the Mac sync client sucked so badly that I didn't even bother--Google Sync all the way. So when I found out that Google had released the beta sync service for iPhone, I was as happy as a fly on... well, you know.
When I got the iPhone, I did the typical sync-via-cable and got my contacts and calendars set up the way I wanted them. Then I gave MobileMe a try. MobileMe worked perfectly, but I can't justify $99 a year just to sync those two things (I don't use any of the other features of MobileMe.)
So as a recap, at the time of Google Sync setup, this is my configuration:
