The Life of a DanielIt's not as interesting as it sounds...Filed under: photographyOf all the photos to steal…Used TinEye to check a few of my images, and ran across this. It's an old photo of some of my past computers. It's licensed as Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial, and a few people have actually asked to use it. But this Turkish site never asked, and even cropped out the URL watermark in the photo. If the photo was more important to me, (and the infringement was more recent,) I might complain. Instead, I just thought I'd blog the ass-hats and remind everyone that the only sure-fire way to keep people from stealing your photos is to never post them online. The article can be found here (it's in Turkish--Google Chrome was happy to translate, though.) Original Photo: Photo used on ass-hat website:

Anyone try this? I'm adding it to my list... Slideshow Pro Directorvia pdxsurreal.com
I've been using SlideShow Pro forever. Today I started a 14-day free trial of SSP Director. It makes publishing photos to a SSP player incredibly easy. There's a Lightroom Plugin, and a WordPress plugin, so publishing new photos is a no-brainer. The trial is for the hosted Director solution, but if everything goes well in the next 14 days, I think I'll buy the $60 self-hosted version of the web app. If you've never checked it out before, give SlideShow Pro a shot. Caution: Working from home causes lack in photographyI've been slacking... These are my Lightroom folders... 10,000+ pictures in 2008. Half that in 2009, and even less in 2010. Ironically, 2009 is when I started working from home. I have definitely noticed that I took more pictures when I was commuting back and forth to North Portland from Beaverton. Lunch breaks, after-work stops downtown, etc. Gonna have to do something about that. Who's up for a photowalk? Somewhere other than downtown...
